Why I Wasn’t Elected to Be the Pope

A Living Faith

Why wasn’t I, an ordained, orthodox, Bible believing Pastor not elected to be Pope?

Let’s dispense with the obvious. I am not Catholic. I don’t believe that the Bishop of Rome as head of the church and vicar of Christ is a biblical role. I wasn’t invited to the conclave that gathered to elect the Pope. I don’t own a really cool red hat. And I am sure that my status as a married father of three might have caused some discomfort among the Roman faithful had I been elected.

There are many other reasons why I wasn’t chosen to be the Pope, but let me give you one major one. Unlike Pope Francis, I wouldn’t have chosen as one of my first public acts to pray to Mary.
